Lot 11 Monaghan Lane in Kanata

This client fell for Minto's Douglas model in Morgan's Grant. They challenged our abilities to modify the design to suit their desires, while keeping some of the features of the home that they enjoyed so much. This well received urban design needed to be de-urbanized to compliment their 2 acre lot. Our architectural team met the challenge and by working with the owners, decided to pull the location of the garage to outside of the main house, and attach it on an angle for additional storage. This made room for an oversized laundry area, a bathroom to service their future pool, and provided space for the music room.

The work shop and second 2 car garage was also added on an angle off the side of the home. The Douglas design was then expanded in all directions to provide all principal rooms with more space. A round turret was created to give the home the castle-like appearance the owners were looking for. The additional second floor space was distributed through the 3 front bedrooms and allowed for a master bedroom space fit for a king.

This is a true example of a Minto model modified into a custom home.
