Lot 29 Copperwood Street - Quarry Ridge in Orleans

This new Minto Community is well underway and is located within an existing area. Quarry Ridge is a testament to its name. A old rock quarry elevated over the existing homes. The gem within this new development is the oversized lots at the ridge both overlooking the river and the quarry. Our first custom home in this new development has come from an existing Minto design called the Balmoral. The lot provides views of the quarry and treed city walking paths along the ridge.

Our clients re-configured the living space of the design to maximize views and provide open areas without increasing the home's overall size. We started modification in the garage giving extra depth and a three car width. The laundry room with a side entry was tucked behind the garage. The owners wish list was fulfilled by moving Bedroom 4 with ensuite to the front of the home, over the garage. This gave the family room an open-to-above ceiling and two storey windows to take advantage of the view, and also provided a the loft space overlooking the family room. The exterior walls of the dining room, kitchen and breakfast rooms were stepped back at the rear of the house to present the family room and it's spectacular views as the feature of the main floor.

Many features of this home show how our custom homes group can modify a Minto design to make your dreams come true. Some of these features include, 12' high tray ceiling in the living room, large kitchen with gathering island, curved staircase with ceilings open to the second floor, wall niches, arched half walls with columns and a unique Bedroom 2 loft area.
